Yesterday, the CMA, as well as all of the other W.H Croxford High School Academies, went across the street to the RVS building. When we got there, the academies started the day by doing a couple fun activities with the drama teacher, Ms. Rodgers. After that we had this really long presentation to sit through and to be honest I didn't really pay attention so i'm pretty lost writing this right now. The only thing I really got out of the presentation was that we should have a smart goal for the year. "Smart" is an acronym for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timely. I need one smart goal for my education and the CMA and one personal goal for me to complete. I didn't really figure out my smart goals until a week or so after the presentation, But when I did figure out what my goals were I was sure that they were what I wanted to do and actually contribute and go through with my goal to actually achieve it. My Academy smart goal for the year is to be able to play a new instrument, the saxophone specifically by the end of the year. To achieve this goal I am going to try and play the saxophone at least once a week for half of the class for the duration of the year. I want to be able to play at least one song on the saxophone by the end of the year. This task is going to be difficult though, because I am currently in a band as the rhythm guitarist so most of my time will be focused on the band but I am going to try. My second smart goal had to be a personal goal. My personal goal is to get a job by the end of November. The kind of job that I would most prefer would be something in the sports community so to help achieve my goal I applied for multiple sports related stores around the area. To try and further increase my chance of attaining successfulness in my goal, every 2 weeks I am going to go around the area and hand out resumes to possible employment locations.
